Kask Matchmaking LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") is a California-based, personally-run matchmaking service. This Privacy Policy explains the categories of information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you. Details of how our matchmaking process works are set out in your Matchmaking Service Agreement. By engaging our Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including during your intake interview, and information generated through your use of our Services. This includes:

  • Identity and contact information, such as your name, date of birth, address, phone number, and email address.
  • Profile and preference information you share with us to help identify compatible introductions, which may include information from family members who take part in your intake process.
  • Photographs you provide.
  • Reference information, being the name and contact details of the personal references you provide.
  • For clients enrolled in certain service tiers, background check information, obtained with your authorization.
  • Payment information, processed through our third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers ourselves.
  • Feedback you and others provide to us about introductions we facilitate.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide and administer our matchmaking services, including to build your profile, identify and facilitate potential introductions, process payments, communicate with you, evaluate feedback, conduct any background checks associated with your service tier, and comply with our legal obligations, including California Civil Code §§ 1694–1694.4, which governs dating service contracts. Where applicable, the specific process by which introductions and disclosures occur is described in your Matchmaking Service Agreement.

3. How We Share Your Information

As part of providing our Services, we may share limited information about you with a prospective match we introduce you to. Certain categories of information — including your full contact details, your references' information, and any background check results — are subject to additional restrictions on if, when, and how they may be shared, as described in your Matchmaking Service Agreement. Background check information is never shared with a prospective match; it is used only for our internal evaluation of clients.

We may also share information with:

  • Third-party service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as payment processing or background screening, under confidentiality obligations; and
  • Law enforcement or regulators, where required by law or to protect the safety of our clients or the public.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share your information for third-party marketing purposes.

4. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, including limiting who has access to your file. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations (including recordkeeping related to dating service contracts under California law), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your information as described in Section 6, subject to records we are required to retain by law.

6. Your Rights and Choices

As a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and related law to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain disclosures. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 10. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

You may update your profile information, change your references, or request a copy of your background check report (if applicable) at any time by contacting us directly.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services are intended only for individuals 21 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21.

8. Sensitive Information You Choose to Share

If you choose to share sensitive information with us (such as information about health, religion, or other personal matters) to help us find compatible matches, you consent to our limited use of that information for that purpose, subject to the sharing limitations described in Section 3.

9. Changes to This Policy
